Something has shat in my liver

Word of advice, children: never go drinking with squaddies. The bastards aren't actually human, and are specially trained to be without empathy or decent feeling.

I'm going to crawl back to bed now.

Um, what's a squaddie? Is it like a type of mutant?

In a sense, sunshine, in a sense.

A squaddie in this case is a bunch of lads from the South Staffordshire Regiment of the British army, who I had on secondment for a training exercise at the weekend. A bunch of large twenty-odd year olds who don't do much with their time but drink and fight. For some reason, it seemed like a really good idea to take go out for drinks with them after we were done.

Be awake by five, Mr Wisdom. I shall be in the Marquis.

I'm awake now, and in the office. But I might not be able to get away until about 6, I'm afraid. Something's come up - I'll tell you more when I see you.

Sir? Do you think that you might feel so bad because you are English? My Uncle Hamish who wasn't my real uncle but that's beside the point said that you English people get hangovers because you cannot hold your liquor and that only Irish have the genetic disposition for binging properly.

Could that be like a special mutation that only Irish have?

At this point, I'm perfectly prepared to believe that all Irish people may be some special kind of mutants, yes.

Have some of these, I think that might help.
